Radio, RNS 850, Empty Phone Book Contacts Displayed

The phone book in the RNS 850 has blank contact entries. In the MFI no blank contacts are displayed.

Technical Background

After pairing a phone to the RNS 850 and selecting the address book in the phone menu on the RNS 850, empty contacts may exist. In the MFI and/or
phone, there are no empty contacts.

The entry displays a blank contact in the RNS 850-arrow-.

In certain situations the empty phone book contacts are sent from the phone to the RNS 850 which allows for editing. As editing is not possible in the
MFI empty entries are not shown there.

Tip:

This problem primarily occurs after deleting phone book contacts that only contained an E-mail address.

Service

The customer can be educated on how to fix their phone by explaining the following:

The customer can create a back-up of their phone contacts, reset the phone default settings and reinstall the backed-up address book on the phone. If
possible, the backed-up address book should be checked for empty entries before the installation.

Check the phone for empty contacts and contacts without a name assigned. Either delete or complete the contact (if they are visible on the phone).

Tip:
Recommend that the customer should visit their local cell phone retail store if assistance is needed creating a backup of the phone book.
