Mechanical Vacuum Pump

Mechanical Vacuum Pump

‹› A mechanical vacuum pump is installed from November 2006.

‹› Introduction of undetachable seals as a running change, identifying  feature, refer to --> [ Characteristics of the Vacuum Pump Sealing Ring ] 

Removing

-

Disconnect vacuum line - A -.

-

Remove bolts - arrows -.

-

Carefully remove vacuum pump from cylinder head.

‹› If the sealing ring --> [ (Item 7) Seal ] See: Mechanical Vacuum Pump Assembly Overview on the input shaft  remains stuck on, insert it back in

the vacuum pump, refer to --> [ Installation Position, Temporary Sealing Ring ]  New vacuum pumps are delivered with sealing ring. Do  not
install 2 sealing rings under any circumstances.

Installing

-

Ensure sealing ring is seated correctly in vacuum pump, refer to --> [ Installation Position, Temporary Sealing Ring ] 

-

Turn rotor in vacuum pump so flattened sides of input shaft fit  into rotor.

Slide vacuum pump evenly into hole on cover as far as stop.

CAUTION!
If the vacuum pump is pulled out again, the location of the sealing  ring must be checked again, refer to --> [ Installation Position,
Temporary Sealing Ring ]

Tighten bolts - arrows - and reconnect vacuum line -  A -.
