Remove spark plugs using spark plug removal tool (3122 B).

Check compression pressure using the compression tester (VAG 1763).
‹› Using tester --> operating instructions.

Let a second mechanic operate the starter just as long until a pressure increase is no longer indicated on the tester.
Compression Pressure

Install the spark plugs using the spark plug removal tool (3122 B) and tighten to 20 Nm.

Now install ignition coils with power output stage.

To install, insert ignition coil with power output stage into corresponding spark plug shaft so that straight connector sides fit with each other -
arrows -.
After test is completed:

Connect vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052).

Perform vehicle system test. Refer to " Guided Fault Finding".

End vehicle system test, this will automatically erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) entries which occurred during the assembly.
