‹› If it is desired to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM), connect the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) and
perform the guided function "Replace Engine Control Module (ECM)".
Procedure

Switch off ignition.

Remove windshield wiper arms.

Remove plenum chamber cover.

Disengage connector from ECM and then disconnect it.

Remove the old ECM and insert the new one.

Code the ECM and adapt to electronic immobilizer and throttle valve control unit. If necessary, enable cruise control system. Refer to " Guided
function".

Read fault memory of new ECM and, if necessary, erase fault memory. Refer to "Guided function".

Perform test drive.

Check ECM's Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory again.
