Cylinder block

‹› Removing and installing crankshaft, refer to --> [ Crankshaft Assembly Overview ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Cylinder Block

‹› Disassembling and assembling piston and connecting rod, refer to --> [ Piston and Connecting Rod Assembly Overview ] See: Engine, Cooling

and Exhaust/Engine/Cylinder Block Assembly/Piston/Service and Repair/Piston and Connecting Rod Assembly Overview.

Sealing flange

‹› Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Sealing Flange, Transmission Side ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Seals and

Gaskets/Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal/Service and Repair/Sealing Flange, Transmission Side.

Seal

‹› Remove using pulling hook (T20143/2). 

‹› PTFE version of oil seal.

‹› Do not oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal.

‹› Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with  a clean cloth.

‹› Installing, refer to --> [ Seal, Flywheel Side ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Seals and Gaskets/Crankshaft Main Bearing

Seal/Service and Repair/Seal, Flywheel Side.

Drive plate

‹› Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Drive Plate ] See: Drive Plate.

60 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°)

‹› Replace.

‹› To loosen and tighten, use retainer (T10044) (with 5 mm spacers) or counter holder tool (T10069).
