Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  W00-0427
t  Removal wedge -VAS 3409-
  Note
When removing and installing components that are in view (switches, covers, trim and so on), mask off areas in which tools (removal wedge -VAS 3409-, screwdriver) are used to lever out those components using commercially available masking tape.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical loads, and pull out ignition key.

–  Using the removal wedge -VAS 3409- or a suitable screwdriver, carefully lever out the lens -1- at its catches -arrows- and remove it from the front interior light -W1--2-.

–  Undo and remove screws -1-.
–  Release the locking lugs by pushing them in -direction of arrows- and remove front interior light -W1--2- from roof trim, taking connected wiring lengths into consideration.

–  Release and pull off connector -1-.
Installing:
Install in the same way but in reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:

–  Tighten screws -1- to 1.5 Nm.
