Throttle Cable/Linkage: Adjustments
1.
Check adjustment as follows:
a. Depress accelerator pedal to full throttle position (no kickdown) while observing throttle and transaxle levers. Throttle lever should contact
full throttle stop, but transaxle lever should not move to kickdown position.
b. Hold accelerator pedal against floor stop. Transaxle lever should be against kickdown stop and override spring on end of throttle cable should
be compressed.
c. If above conditions are not met, use following procedures to perform adjustment.

Loosen adjusting rod nut and remove override spring from accelerator control rod.
3.
Adjust idle speed to specifications with idle air control screw (5), then stop engine.
4.
Press accelerator rod in direction of arrow (closed throttle), then rotate adjusting rod until shoulder of adjusting rod contacts throttle lever pivot
(4).
5.
Reinstall override spring, start engine and check idle speed. If idle speed is not within specifications, adjust with rod.
6.
When idle speed is correct, secure adjustment by tightening nut, then stop engine.
7.
Hold accelerator pedal against floor stop. Transaxle lever should be in kickdown position, against stop for transaxle code NH or with 1-2 mm (
1/32 - 3/32 inch) freeplay between lever and kickdown stop for transaxle code NG.
8.
Release accelerator pedal and observe transaxle lever. Lever should be in ``no throttle'' (no kickdown) position.
9.
If transaxle lever is not properly positioned in steps 7 and 8, loosen accelerator cable clamping bolt and adjust cable as needed.
10.
Repeat step 1 to check adjustment.
