Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

CHECK

1.

Depress brake pedal firmly approximately 20 times with engine Off.

2.

Depress brake pedal and hold.

3.

Start engine, if brake booster is working properly, pedal will fall slightly and then hold.

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.

Remove master cylinder. See: Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service and Repair

2.

Disconnect vacuum line(s) from booster.

3.

Remove brake booster attaching bolts.

4.

Disconnect booster pushrod from brake pedal.

5.

Reverse procedure to install.
