Condition

Noise in the magnet shaft bearing of the speedometer.

Production Change

Speedometers with a spring loaded magnet shaft bearing are installed as of: 4/90 VIN 25 LH 071 889

Protective sleeve lengthened and attachment mark removed from speedometer cable as of: VIN 25 HH 040 185

Service

When symptoms indicate a noisy speedometer:

Replace speedometer (no change in part number)

Note:

Parts Division will only supply new version speedometers, which can be identified by the graphite (dark gray) or white bushing in the speedometer.
This bushing was previously black.

Inspect speedometer cable for correct routing.
