Some replacement steering knuckles contact the brake disc in the area indicated (arrow).

Check replacement steering knuckles with the following Part Numbers upon installation and modify if necessary:

251 407 311 AE 
251 407 312 AE 
251 407 311 AF 
251 407 312 AF

Modification

-

grind down cast lug on steering knuckle approx. 8.0 to 10.0 mm (5/16 to 3/8 in.) to provide clearance for brake disc (arrow).

check fit of splash shield to steering knuckle and modify shield if necessary.

CAUTION
Modified part must not show scoring marks from grinding and must have smooth, rounded edges.
