Vanagon 2WD L4-2109cc 2.1L (1986)
1. Set heater control valve to maximum heat and open the rear seat auxiliary heater valve, if equipped.
2. Remove radiator grill.
3. Raise the front of the vehicle approximately 40 cm (15.75 in) at front under cross-member and place on safety stands.
4. Open the bleeder screw on the radiator.
5. Open bleeder valve in engine compartment.
6. Fill with coolant until expansion tank is full (approx. 4-5 liter / 4.25-5.3 quarts).
7. Start engine.
8. At approx. 2000 rpm, top up tank until coolant flows from bleeder screw on radiator (bubble free).
9. Add coolant until tank is full and close tank with cap.
10. Turn ignition OFF. After 20 seconds, start engine again.
11. At about 2000 rpm, open cap of expansion tank.
12. Close bleeder screw on radiator when coolant flows out.
13. Add coolant if necessary, and close expansion tank.
14. Close bleeder valve in engine compartment, and switch ignition OFF.
15. Top up refill tank with coolant to max. mark and pressure test cooling system, correcting any leaks.
16. Remove safety stands and lower vehicle. Return the auxiliary heater control valve to its original position, if equipped.
