thread aerosol container (P/N: G 001 600) onto adapter line and hold can vertically, upsidedown AVOID ALL ELECTRICAL CONTACT
^
open shut-off valve on adapter line completely. A full can should show 4 to 5 bar (58 to 73 PSI) pressure
^
have someone start the engine while you regulate the throttle with your free hand to maintain approximately 3000 RPM
^
keep engine running, and adjust shut-off valve to maintain a continuous pressure of 2.3 to 3.2 bar (34-46 PSI) until container is empty
^
repeat operation with a second container of cleaner
^
reinstall fuel lines by following the removal procedure in reverse order (first bleed off any residual pressure by slightly opening shut-off valve on
VW 1318)
^
run engine at idle until radiator cooling fan cycles at least once
^
connect exhaust analyzer and check CO%; correct if not within specifications

Step 4. Carbon Build-Up, Removing
Based on your diagnosis during step 2 (page 2), select one of the following service solutions.
Minor build-up
If minor carbon build-up has been diagnosed:
^
add one 20 oz. bottle of Autobahn gasoline additive (P/N: ZVW 246 001) to a full tank of fuel
Note To completely remove minor carbon deposits from the intake valves, the customer should be advised to repeat the fuel additive application two
consecutive times (one 20 oz. bottle per tank full).
CAUTION Do NOT exceed four applications of fuel additive without changing the engine oil. Follow the recommended oil change instructions on the
back of the bottle.
