Throttle Cable/Linkage: Adjustments

1.

Depress accelerator pedal to full throttle position. Throttle valve lever must contact stop, but kickdown lever on transmission must not be in
kickdown position.

2.

Press accelerator pedal beyond full throttle to floor. Override spring must be compressed and kickdown lever on transmission must be in
kickdown position.

3.

If not, loosen nut on adjusting rod and remove override spring.

4.

Start engine and run at idle, check and adjust idle if necessary, then shut engine Off.

5.

Pull accelerator rod to stop (closed throttle position), then turn adjusting rod until shoulder of adjusting rod just contacts pivot of throttle lever.

6.

Reinstall override spring, then start engine and check idle speed.

7.

If necessary, adjust idle speed by turning adjusting rod, then lock adjusting rod in position with nut.

8.

Press accelerator pedal to floor and ensure that kickdown lever is in kickdown position on stop.

9.

Release accelerator pedal and ensure that kickdown lever is in closed throttle position on stop.

10.

If necessary, adjust accelerator cable at clamping bolt on transmission.
