Oil leakage from final drive oil pan/gasket.

Production Date Code: 27011

Service

Transmissions with date code 27011 or lower, when vehicles exhibit oil pan gasket leakage, a new oil pan gasket and bolts must be installed.

^ drain oil from final drive assembly

^ remove oil pan bolts and discard

^ remove oil pan and gasket, discard gasket

^ clean gasket fragments from oil pan and final drive housing

CAUTION

Inspect oil pan for distortion or damage. Inspect the sealing surface for gasket fragments, distortion or other damage, especially around the bolt holes.
Always replace damaged oil pans.

^ install new oil pan gasket 2 Part No. 090 507 215

CAUTION

Use a beam type torque wrench. Damage may result from use of inaccurate "click" wrenches.
