Oil Seal Installation
4. Clean and check sealing surfaces in holder and on crankshaft.
5. Press seal into rear sealing flange

Assemble standard handle 1801 and drift 5276.

Oil sealing lips and contact face of seal against holder.

Install seal on drift.
NOTE: If there is a wear surface on crankshaft, press seal further into flange than before.

Remove one spacer ring from drift if old seal was flush with flange.

Remove two spacer rings from drift if oil seal was 3 mm (0.12 in) inside flange.

Leave both spacer rings in drift if crankshaft is undamaged.
6. Tap in seal until drift contacts crankshaft.
Flywheel/Drive Plate Installation
7. Install Flywheel:

Turn crankshaft to top dead center position for cylinder No. 1.

Position flywheel on crankshaft so that pin A is 15° below horizontal position, see illustration.
NOTE: There are two pins. Do not choose the wrong one!
8. Install new bolts. Apply sealing compound, P/N 1161 056-5, to bolt threads.
9. Torque to 70 Nm (50 ft lbs). Use gear sector 5112 to lock flywheel.
