If a vehicle experiences a high alternator charging output, flickering lights, or excessive liquid loss from the battery, the battery temperature sensor
connector at the voltage regulator may be the cause.
To temporarily rectify this condition, disconnect the battery temperature sensor at the alternator and leave it disconnected. The alternator will work using
the internal temperature regulation of its integral regulator. Verify proper operation of the vehicle's charging system using Charging System Service
Manual TP 30728/1 (English).
NOTE:
From the factory, installation of the battery temperature sensor was discontinued at the end of November 1985. A modified sensor will be
released at a later date.
