240 L4-2.3L SOHC VIN 88 B230F (1986)
1. Remove the solenoid.
2. Remove the relief valve cylinder to gain access to the control orifice.
3. Use compressed air to blow clean.
Solenoid Replacement
NOTE: Solenoid valve and control valve are integral and replaced as an assembly. Use 25 mm (1 in) crowfoot wrench (Volvo tool P/N 5172) for
removing and installing.
1. Disconnect wires at connectors. Attach crow-foot wrench. Use extension and wrench as appropriate. Remove solenoid.
2. Apply ATF oil to the new O-rings. Install solenoid. Use crow-foot wrench and torque wrench. Torque to 42-55 Nm (30-40 ft lb).
