Alignment: Service and Repair

CASTER ADJUSTMENT

    Caster is not adjustable. If caster angle is not within specifications, check for damaged or worn suspension components and replace as needed.

CAMBER ADJUSTMENT

1.

Bounce vehicle up and down several times to set control arms in normal position.

2.

Loosen upper strut attaching nuts.

Adjust camber using tool 5038,

Tighten strut attaching nuts, then recheck caster angle.

TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT

1.

Loosen locknut on each tie rod.

2.

Turn each tie rod to obtain proper toe-in. Length of tie rods may not differ more than 2 mm (.080 inch).

3.

If after toe-in adjustment, steering wheel is not properly centered, remove steering wheel and reinstall in correct alignment. 

Vehicles with ``SRS''

designation on steering wheel are equipped with air bag restraint system. Use extreme caution when working on steering wheel to avoid
personal injury.
