Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair
Note: The accumulator contains an absorbing agent which is designed to absorb any moisture in the system. For this reason, air must not be allowed to
get into the accumulator, otherwise the moisture from the air will be absorbed.
The accumulator's location, working and appearance vary from model to model and year to year.
Note: Always install a new accumulator if the coolant circuit has been broken or there is suspected moisture in the system.

Remove battery negative lead.
Drain system of coolant. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair
Remove coolant hoses from accumulator. Plug hose ends.
Remove power leads from low-pressure switch on accumulator if fitted (USA from 1981 onwards, 1985 elsewhere).

Install new accumulator.
Note: Measure quantity of oil in accumulator. Add an equal quantity of oil to the York compressor (240) or to the accumulator (260 or diesel).

Connect coolant hoses. Use new 0-rings. Coat with compressor oil:

Connect hose to evaporator to accumulator outlet marked OUT.
