Flame trap:
If the flame trap gets clogged, clean or replace the flame trap.
Symptoms for a clogged flame trap are:
- oil dipstick "jumps out" of the pipe
- oil leakage at the seals in the cylinder block Fig. 105.
- seals must not always be replaced if they are leaking due to a blocked flame trap. Fix the flame trap, clean the engine and check if seals are still
leaking or not.

Drain hose:
If the drain hose is incorrectly installed or if it is to short (outlet must be below oil level), it's possible that the crankcase ventilation will not function.
The hose may also hit the crankshaft and could get damaged. Fig. 145.
