THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO THE U.S. AND CANADA

New-type outer front wheel bearings manufactured by Koyo were brought into production in October 1985 (W543).

All inner bearings are still made by SKF.

New wheel hub, installing

NOTE:

To achieve maximum service life of wheel bearings, the following precautions should be taken whenever a new wheel hub is installed on a
vehicle.

Check wheel studs to identify bearing race manufacturer. The outer races are already installed by the hub manufacturer.

Any wheel stud marked with an S or T indicates the outer bearing race is made by SKF.

If all the wheel studs are not marked, then the outer bearing race is made by Koyo. To ensure proper service life, corresponding make of outer front
bearing must be used with the race installed in the new hub.
