Pull off the butyl tape until the windshield flange is free of butyl.

CLEANING

Clean the windshield flange thoroughly using H cleaner (P/N 1161436-9).

All butyl residue must be removed.

Wipe off using a white cloth or white paper so that it can be clearly seen when the surface is free of residues.

Wipe dry carefully using a dry shop rag.

Note

Check that the painted surfaces are completely clean and free of all butyl residue.

Install the windshield following the instructions PUR bonded windshield installation.

WINDSHIELD REMOVAL

Remove the trim strip. Start at the joint at bottom edge, pull trim carefully away from windshield.

Note

If trim sticks in retaining strip, carefully tap a clean putty knife between the rubber trim and the trim retainer. Pry gently until trim loosens, then
remove the trim by hand.

Remove rubber strip between dashboard and windshield.

Mask the windshield frame and the upper section of the fender edges.

Thread piano wire from inside to outside through PUR bead (at windshield post).

As an alternative a "cold knife" may be used.

Pull out wire from outside the car using pliers.
