New blower motor fan mounting
A new-type fan mounting was introduced from the following chassis numbers (late '88 model year):
244- 333 224
245- 808 243
The motor shaft has flats which mate with flats in the fan hubs (see fig. below).

Note:
New-style fans only are available separately. For use on earlier blower motors, perform fan modification that follows.
Modification of new-type fan to use on earlier blower motors
PROCEDURE:
Cut outer plastic section of hub so that only 1 mm projects above metal inner sleeve.
