To test the Lambda sond, all potential problems influencing a Lambda sond reading (ignition, fuel injection, intake and exhaust system etc.) must be
checked and corrected.
Lambda duty cycles, function test and CO adjustments can be performed on all Volvo engines equipped with Lambda sond system with the aid of the
"Volvo Monotester" (part number # 9999921-1). This method does not require the normal connections to the exhaust system and labor time is reduced.
Connect the "Volvo Monotester", as described in the operating manual, but note that the blue lead must be connected to the Lambda service pick-up.
Located as shown in Fig. 36.
NOTE:
When driving in the vehicle with the "Volvo Monotester" connected, the positive (red) lead must be increased in length by 60 cm (24 IN).
