Installing Shut-Off Valve

Installing shut-off valve on previous models:
The shut-off valve can be installed on vehicles with carburetor engines only.
Cut the hose from the air cleaner to the PULS-AIR system and shorten it about 30mm (1.2in). Do this some distance away from the bend on the hose.
Push the valve into position.
NOTE:
The arrow must point towards the engine. Fig. 59.
Install the control hose on the valve. The length of the hose should be approx. 550mm (22in).
Cars with manual transmission:
Remove the plug from the intake manifold and screw the nipple into position. Connect the control hose and secure it with tie straps.
Cars with automatic transmission:
Cut existing hose to the intake manifold. Install a T-type connector on the hose. Connect the control hose and secure it with tie straps.
