The thermostatic air cleaner housing consists of a thermostatically operated air damper and hot and cold air inlet ducts. The thermostat senses the air
temperature and positions the damper for the correct hot/cold air mixture. The hot air gets drawn from near the exhaust manifold, while the cold air gets
taken from the regular outside inlet duct. This results in a constant intake air temperature, regardless of the outside temperature. Fig. 31. and Fig. 32.
The thermostatic air control system improves driveability during warm-up, and while driving in very cold weather.
Thermostatic Air Control thermostat:
Hot air only to 5°C (41°F)
Cold air only from 15°C (59°F)
