Removal

Remove battery negative lead.
P2
Drain system of coolant. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System
P3
Remove:
-
glove compartment.
-
panel beneath glove compartment.
-
side panel facing heater.
-
RH defroster vent and air duct.
P4
Remove thermostat:
Note: The position of the thermostat (1) may vary. In later models (1979-), the capillary tube is on the evaporator pipe.
P5
Undo and plug coolant hoses.
P6
Remove:
-
expansion valve.
