H4

- Remove:

‹› hoses
‹› container of fresh brake fluid
‹› bleeder unit

- Check to see whether there is any air remaining in system by firmly depressing brake.

Note!  Engine should be switched off.

Important!  Empty brake servo by depressing pedal 3-4 times. Then depress it firmly with a force corresponding to an abrupt stop. The pedal travel
should not exceed 55 mm.

If any air remains in the system, repeat bleeding procedure.

Important!  Also check that there is no air remaining in the ABS modulator. Do this by bleeding at connections.

Mechanical Bleeding

(Bleeding may be carried out with wheels in position)

- Jack up vehicle. Fill brake fluid reservoir to maximum.

- Start by bleeding rear left wheel:

‹› Connect hoses to both bleed nipples and run them below the surface to a container partly filled with brake fluid.

- Open bleed nipples:

‹› Pump pedal five times. Keep it depressed and close nipples. Release pedal and check brake fluid level.

- Continue bleeding system in the following order:

‹› rear right wheel
‹› front left wheel
‹› front right wheel
