Ignition Power Stage: Testing and Inspection

Power stage #2 No power stage GND
Fault Message Conditions:
A fault message is recorded if voltage exceeds
1.2 V.
Fault causes:
Break between power stage terminal 2 and the GND point on the intake manifold.
Poor GND point connection.
Fault symptoms:
The engine will not start.
If the fault is intermittent the engine will stop or run roughly.
UG1
Volvo ST, Test Box
-Disconnect the ST in accordance with QA2.
-Continue with Checking the GND point UG2.

Checking The GND Point
-Ignition off.
Connect an ohmmeter between power stage terminal 2 and GND.
The ohmmeter should read approx.
0 OHMS.
