Knock Sensor: Testing and Inspection

FB. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 1-4-3 DL EZ 116 K
* 1-4-3 Knock sensor (KS) signal absent or faulty.
DTC Conditions
The KS signal is tested when the engine is warm and the engine speed is over 2000 rpm. If the signal is below a certain level the ignition will be retarded
and the DTC 1-4-3 logged.
Because it is not possible to measure the KS signal without special equipment only the wiring is tested.
Causes Of Fault:
Break or grounding in the wiring or the KS. Contact resistance in the connections.
Fault symptoms:
Poor acceleration, lack of power, high fuel consumption.

Connecting The Test Box
Connect the test box to DI and check the GND point in accordance with P3-P4.
-Continue checking the wiring to the KS FB2.

Checking The Wiring To The Knock Sensor (KS)
-Ignition off.
-Disconnect the KS connector and bridge the connections in the connector with jumpers.
