Turn ignition key to position I or II.
Use a 4-5 mm dia. (0.15 - 0.19 in.) pin to depress upper locking tab of cable in ignition switch. Withdraw cable.
Remove cable adjuster locking clip (1) at gear lever end A8
Move gear selector lever to position P A9
Unhook cable at gear lever end. Undo clip and withdraw cable under center console.
Installation
Carefully insert new cable under center console Attach cable adjuster to gear selector mechanism using locking clip (1). A10
Note:
Position clip with lip facing downward as illustrated in figure for A12.
Ensure that gear selector lever is in position P. Hook cable onto operating arm in gear selector mechanism (2).
Thread cable under instrument panel and secure with clip A11
