Low-lift Pressure Plate Installation
A new clutch assembly was introduced on all 1990 M/Y manual transmission-equipped vehicles. When installing this new version on a 1989 M/Y or
earlier diesel vehicle, the flywheel must first be modified in the following manner.
Modify flywheel
Tap the two 4 mm diam. pins (top arrows at pos. 1) into the flywheel until they bottom.
Cut pins off flush with the surface of the flywheel.
Correct resultant imbalance by drilling a single 6 mm diam. hole (bottom arrow 2) diametrically opposite the pins.
The illustration gives dimensions (in millimeters) for the location of the one hole to be drilled.
