Thermostat

In order to increase the difference between the normal operating temperature of the engine and the engagement temperature for the 91~C electrical
cooling fan switch to avoid unneccessary engagement of the electrical cooling fan, a 87~C (189~F) thermostat should be installed after installation of
the 91~C (196~F) electrical cooling fan switch. The thermostat kit is available under P/N 273459-8.

Expansion Tank Pressure Cap

For an increased safety margin before boiling and loss of coolant, a 150 kpa (21.8 Psi) pressure cap, grey, should be installed, P/N 1357390-2.

NOTE:

Ensure all hose clamps for the cooling system are tight and hoses are free of wear or damage.

Water Pump Pulley

For increased cooling fan and water pump speed, which improves the cooling capacity, a smaller diameter water pump pulley is available under P/N
1378139-8.

The smaller water pump pulley requires a shorter drive belt P/N 968320-0.

NOTE:

The small diameter pump pulley was introduced during MY 1985
