Modification of knee bolster member
Grind off the four welded nuts on the member.
Also grind off the spot weld on the reinforcing bracket and remove the bracket.
NOTE:
Before replacing the member, check that the heater hose air nozzle is inserted in opening A as illustrated.
Attach the member to the instrument panel using a 6 mm screw at the top and two 6 mm screws at both the left and right-hand sides.
Tightening torque:
8 N-m (6 ft.lb.)
NOTE:
The original screws may be reused.
