Install a new guide sleeve and seal in B4 valve housing
Use special tools 1801 and 5277. Install sleeve first, then seal. Carefully tap parts into position. Seal ring lip must face up.
NOTE:
Use care when installing guide sleeve. If sleeve is not positioned correctly, pinion operation will be stiff.
Perform B5-B10

Check seating of seal
Check inside of delivery tube. It should be possible to see half of piston seal in center of tube.
Perform B12

Install combination support end bushing/ lock sleeve
Rub down edge of rack with wet abrasive paper. Remove dirt from rack and wrap one turn of adhesive tape around edge. Lubricate all parts.
Install:

plastic spacer with beveled side facing towards seal

seal for support end bushing/lock sleeve. Use a small screwdriver to lift edge of seal over end of rack.
