Connect adapter 5175 to hydraulic pump.

NOTE:

Use 5/8 - 18 UNF banjo-bolt (P/N 948490-8) and two washers, P/N 11996-6.

Connect adapter 5320 to tube connected to hose. Lift tube as far as possible in engine compartment.

Place the pressure gauge in a suitable position where it can be seen from the driver's seat.

Fill reservoir with oil

Specified oil:

ATF type A, F or G

Top-up almost to edge of reservoir.

To prevent damage to the pump:
Bleed the hydraulic system by turning the steering wheel from lock to lock before starting the engine. Start engine and leave it idling. Turn the steering
wheel between locks. Top-up with oil as the level drops. Continue until the oil level does not drop any more. Turn engine OFF.

Checking right-hand balance

Turn steering wheel to almost full right lock and fit a torque gauge as shown. Slowly turn torque gauge to right and make a note of torque when pressure
gauge reaches 1.2 MPa (171 psi).

NOTE:

It is important that the torque is noted exactly when this pressure is reached since the pressure remains at the same level even if the torque
drops.
