Ball Joint: Service and Repair
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove anti-roll bar link to control arm attaching bolt.
3.
Remove ball joint stud cotter pin and nut.
4.
Press ball joint out of control arm using tool 5259.
5.
Remove ball joint to strut attaching bolts, then press control arm down and remove ball joint.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) then tighten an additional 1/4 turn. Torque ball joint stud nut to 60 Nm
(44 ft. lbs.).
