Center Support: Description and Operation

DIFFERENT TYPE OF CENTRE SUPPORT BEARING

Type 1

"Labyrinth-sealed" bearing with four protective rings. Bearing cage - outside diameter: 112 mm (4.41 in).
Introduced from production start 760 to chassis No. 1531.

In connection with repairs, the bearing cage is replaced by type 2, except for the front protective ring (P/N 1 209519-6), which is retained so that
the bearing will have the right face-to-face size.

Type 2

The bearing is sealed by two protective rings with the same inside diameter.

Bearing cage - outside diameter: 118 mm (4.65 in).
Introduced: from chassis No. 1532
Discontinued: approx. chassis No. 3300

Type 3

The same bearing cage and rear protective ring as type 2. The front protective ring, however, has a larger inside diameter than type 2, due to the
fact that the propeller shaft has a shoulder for the deep.groove ball bearing.
