Windshield Washer Reservoir: Service and Repair

Washer reservoir, Replacement
- Remove air cleaner.
- Remove sensor.
- Disconnect leads from pump and remove hose. 5-door models have 2 pumps.
- Cut off lead tie and raise top-up tube.
- Lift away reservoir.
- If the pump is working satisfactorily transfer it to the new reservoir, as per H1. See: Windshield Washer Motor/Service and Repair
- Replace reservoir if it is damaged. Otherwise rinse it out, clean and fit a new top-up filter.
- Reassemble in reverse order:
‹› Some top-up tubes have a small triangular mark at the top which should be located rearwards.
- Fit new lead tie.
- Fill reservoir with fluid. Check for leaks and test.
