FAULT-TRACING PROCEDURE 8 Start inhibit function fails to operate (engine can be started with alarm energized)
FAULT-TRACING PROCEDURE 9 Start inhibit function does not disengage
Fault-Tracing Procedure 10 & 11
FAULT-TRACING PROCEDURE 10 - Alarm sounds intermittently when driving
The irregular occurrence of such a fault makes it difficult to diagnose. The fault will be located either in the monitor box, the windshield switch unit or in
the switch wiring. Occasionally, it may be due to a loose wire at S11.
First check the lead to S11, both at the terminal and at the central electrical unit (see installation instructions).
If fault still remains, replace alarm unit. As a last resort, replace alarm switch.
FAULT-TRACING PROCEDURE 11 - False alarms
Since false alarms are usually intermittent, the source may be difficult to detect. In most cases, however, the problem will be external to the alarm unit
itself.
In this case, the problem is one of identifying the loop which is the source of the problem. One method is to simply disconnect one loop at a time until
the faulty circuit has been identified and corrected. The following is a list of the most common sources of faults:
