Coolant Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Testing and Inspection
Thermal Switch
1.
Disconnect wire from temperature switch.
2.
With the engine cold (below 75° F) connect an ohmmeter between the switch and ground. Circuit should be open.
3.
Start the engine and warm up to 86-104° F. Circuit should close.
If the temperature switch fails either test, replace and recheck.
