THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO THE U.S. AND CANADA.
Fuel pump noise transmitted into the vehicle can be reduced by installing a pressure damper in the main fuel pump inlet hose. The damper can be used
on vehicles with CI or LH injection systems.

SPECIAL TOOL:
clamping pliers 9992901-0
PRESSURE DAMPER, INSTALLING
Ensure that the fuel line is properly positioned in its rubber mounts, and rubber hoses are not kinked.
Pinch fuel pump inlet hose with pliers 2901.
Remove rubber hose (arrow) between fuel pump and fuel line.
Cut hose 50 mm (2 in.) from end. Remove an additional 40 mm (1-1/2 in.) from the hose.
