Wiper Motor Linkage: Service and Repair

Wiper Linkage and Motor, Replacement
- Disconnect battery negative lead.
- Remove wiper arms as per G1. See: Wiper Arm/Service and Repair
- Remove rubber seals (1).
- Open hood fully.
- Release water hoses from clips (2). Remove the three screws (3) retaining the cover panel. Older models have plastic clips at the ends instead of
screws.
- Open hood fully.
- Remove cover plate by pulling forward slightly and then lifting back and up.
- Exercise care to avoid damage to paint work. Close hood.
- Undo four retaining screws (4) for the wiper linkage. One of the screws is concealed beneath a rubber plug (5) in cover (6).
- Remove cover from wiper motor.
- Cut off cable tie (7) and unplug connector (8). Unscrew ground lead.
- Lift out wiper linkage.
- Unscrew the motor axle nut or screw (10) plus the three screws (9) retaining the motor, and lift out the motor (11).
- Reassemble in reverse order:
