Modification of new door to fit earlier models

This bulletin describes the modification of doors currently stocked as replacement parts.

A number of holes must be drilled before installing a new front or rear door on a 1988 or earlier model, to enable the door panel to be installed at the
front and the central locking motor at the rear. The modification applies to both left and right-hand doors.

WARNING:
When drilling protective eyewear should be worn.

Modification of front door for installing door panel

Drill two holes

Drill two 8 mm (5/16") diameter holes.

Exact positions of holes are indicated by punch marks.

Apply anti-rust treatment using primer (p/n 9139153-2) and rustproofing (p/n 1161350-2).
