Drill 5/8 inch hole in drain pan. Apply a small amount of butyl around drain tube and insert into hole. Lock in place with lock nut. (see
drawings 7 & 8)

Apply a thick layer of butyl tape, completely around the drain pan. Make sure butyl extends above the edge of the pan so that when the pan is
screwed to the case the butyl will compress to form a tight seal. (See drawings 7 & 8)

Place pan on housing, using a very sharp punch. Punch holes through the pan and into the housing. This hole in the housing will act as a start
for the screws. Screw in all 5 screws.

Using a 3/4 inch hole. Saw drill a hole in the floor directly under the drain neck. Attach hose to neck and pass it through the hole in the floor.
Apply some butyl tape around hole in floor to seal. (See photo)

NOTE! Apply some type of rust protection on hole before passing hose through.

9.

Assuming it is a humid day, start car and let run with AC on Max to test for leaks.

10.

Install glove compartment and lower panel.

ALLOWANCE .6 HOURS.
The fourth solution is for extreme cases and should be used as a last resort. The following must be carried out:

1.

Remove the complete AC/heater unit from the car. (See Service Manual P 8:86). Do not forget to plug the opened AC pipe ends during the
repair work.

2.

Remove the lower part of the fan housing.

3.

Clean all surfaces on both upper and lower housing thoroughly from putty and other sealing compounds.
