Filter for windshield washer jets

Blocked windshield washer jets can sometimes result if small particles of dirt get caught in the washer jets.

A filter for the windshield washer jets supply hose is being introduced for 1991 model year production.

To prevent blocked washer jets on earlier vehicles, install filter, p/n 3538564-0, between the washer reservoir and the jets. Please note proper direction
of flow and install filter with arrow pointing toward washer jets. Cut the washer hose approx. 130 mm (5 in.) from the reservoir. Use two hose clamps to
secure the installation. The filter may also be used for rear window washers.

CAUTION:

Windshield washer fluid (anti-freeze agent) must be used with this filter because ice can crack the filter. Do not use other filters since
their filtering elements can deteriorate causing further problems. Use only the genuine Volvo filter which has been tested for
compatibility with windshield washer fluid.
