New ABS hydraulic modulator
A new ABS hydraulic modulator p/n 3530316-3, was introduced into production. This new modulator supercedes the earlier version.
The new unit has two M12 brake line connections (arrows) to ensure correct-brake pipe installation.
h = rear circuit outlet: M12 connection
I = left front outlet: M12 connection
Note:
When replacing a hydraulic modulator with M10 connections, this modification requires that two of the brake pipes must also be replaced
with pipes using M12 fittings. See Parts bulletin for brake pipe/fitting part numbers.
B280, B230F, B234F:
Two fittings must also be used to install the
two new brake pipes with M12 connections.
Turbo:
Only one fitting need be replaced.
On cars with rear-mounted ABS hydraulic modulators (sedans up to 1987 m/y
inclusive):
One of the above connections is already size M12; therefore, it is only
necessary to install the brake pipe and fitting to connection h on the modulator.
