Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then loosen fuel tank cap to release possible over pressure in tank.

2.

Remove tie bands securing fuel pipe to air intake hose.

3.

Disconnect throttle and kickdown cables from throttle drum and their brackets.

4.

Disconnect electrical connectors from air mass meter and air control valve, then the air valve hose and crankcase ventilation hose from air intake
hose and crankcase ventilation hose and vacuum hoses from throttle housing.

5.

Remove air intake hose and air mass gauge, then the fuel pipes with connectors and fuel pressure regulator.

6.

Disconnect electrical connectors from throttle unit, injectors, knock sensors and temperature sensor on water pump, then the ground connections
on manifold.

7.

Loosen return pipe on fuel distribution pipe, lift wiring harness to one side, then tighten return pipe.

8.

Move left side wiring harness to the side, then remove intake manifold.

9.

Reverse procedure to install.
