Remove reserve power unit and crash sensor
Remove connector from standby power unit and remove unit by lifting with clip.
Lift out crash sensor, complete with bracket and wiring harness.
Remove cut out pieces of tape, and touch-up paint if necessary.
CAUTION:
Following step is for 1987-88 model year ONLY.
Drill clamping plate holes
Drill out existing holes in member to 6 mm. Scrape metal clean with knife to a distance of approx. 10-15 mm (3/8-5/8 in.) around holes.
ALL VEHICLES - Install new crash sensor and bracket.
Secure bracket to floor.
Torque to:
3 +/- 0.75 N-m. = 2.2 +/- 0.5 ft.lb.
Secure bracket to member. for vehicles with welded nuts in member (1989 and later):
Reuse original mounting bolts without washers.
Torque to:
11 Nm (8 ft.1b)
