CAUTION:
Following step is for 1987-88 model year ONLY.

Install clamping plates

Place lock washer on each clamping plate. Insert plate in opening in member and tighten to 5 N-m (3.7 ft.1b).

Note:

Lock washer must be located between plate and inside of member.

WARNING:

Using hacksaw, cut off projecting bolt ends, and smooth off with file. This must be done to prevent possible injury while adjusting seat position.

Install standby power unit

Reconnect connectors at center console. On 780, also reconnect seat belt tensioner connectors.

Reconnect standby power unit connectors and mount unit on bracket.

'(Old ground lead from central relays to center console connectors may remain in place, unused).

Switch ignition on; then reconnect battery ground cable.

(If fault code is displayed when ignition is switched on, battery was probably connected and ignition switched on while connectors were disconnected).
